Birthday Approaching!!!

With November, 2012 going away, my birthday is approaching.

I am excited for a brand new year of my life where I intend to do many things.

It will be packed with a lot of writing and yes, vagabond-ism!!!

As for today, I met a very old friend of mine from my school days. It was a good long talk over lunch of fish and noodles. But above everything else, a good idea has been discussed and it will be materialized soon.

Tlawmngaihna!!!

"The Way of the Warrior" or "Bushido (武士道) " or "Tlawmngaihna" as they say in Mizoram, India. is not only a code for the fighters but for anyone and everyone who wishes to lead a life honorably.

Yes, it is difficult to follow in the beginning but one can do it in his respective field of profession, irrespective of the nature of their work.

I am in the process...

Memo to the Indian Staff by their offshore head-office HR

This offensive piece of memo has just come into my email inbox from a friend of mine who works for this corporate house.

Please read and be offended.

This is a REAL MEMO from a HR Director in Redmond, WA to its staff of Indian Origin. Every word here is kept intact without alteration.

MEMO TO INDIAN STAFF
In view of the large number of Indians working in the USA, UK and many other countries with White People, it has become important for Human Resources Department to issue directives to their Indian staff.

TO ALL HINDI-SPEAKING STAFF
It has been brought to our attention by several officials visiting our corporate headquarters that offensive language is commonly used by our Hindi-speaking staff. Such behavior, in addition to violating our policy, is highly unprofessional and offensive to both visitors and colleagues.
Staff will IMMEDIATELY adhere to the following rules:

1. Words like CHUTIYA, GANDU and other such expressions will not be used for emphasis, no matter how heated the discussion. You will not say CHUTIYE, AKKAL NAHI HAI KYA TEREKO when someone makes a mistake, or MADAR CHOD, BHENCHOD when a major mistake has been made. All forms derived from the verb CHOD are inappropriate in our environment.

2. No project manager, section head or administrator, under any circumstances, will be referred to as GADHA or CHUTIYA. Lack of determination will not be referred to as KAAMCHOR SAALA and neither will persons who lack initiative be referred to as BHOSADIKAA or MADARCHOD.

3. Unusual or creative ideas from your superiors are not to be referred to as GAND FAADU, if a person is persistent, or if a task is heavy to accomplish. In a similar way, do not use GAND FATI, if a colleague is going through a difficult situation.

4. Furthermore, you must not say BHOSADE MEIN GAYA when matters become complicated. When asking someone to leave you alone, you must not say DIMAG KI MAA BHEN MAT KAR. Do not ever substitute 'May I help you?' with BOL TERI GAND KAISE MARU.

5. When things get tough, an acceptable_expression such as 'We are going through a difficult time' should be used, rather than MAA CHUDI PADI HAI or GOTI MUH MEIN HAI.

6. No salary increase shall be ever referred to as KHAIRAAT BAATI JAA RAHI HAI KYA. Under no circumstances should you call our elderly corporate partners as BUDDHA KHOOSAT.

7. Last, but not least, after reading this memo, please do not say: YE KAGAJ GAND PONCHNE KE LAAYAK BHI NAHI HAI.

We hope you will keep these directions in mind.
Sincerely,
Steve Rider

Liquor with Broken Wire!!!

So my manager drops down to Mumbai to spend her long weekend with me.

In the evening I get a call from another friend of mine for liquor since she is to leave for a long trip and she can't go without her bottle of Vodka.

This prompts me to do some more research for liquor and their prices over the internet. The result was overwhelming and I end up making a fine long list for the weekend and the next month.

I already had Sula Shiraz, Golconda and Port Wine as well as "Port Wine No.-7." Now the list would go long with Smrinoff regular Vodka for my friend, Bacardi White Rum for my manager (extremely dry liquor), Antiquity Blue whiskey and Blenders Pride for myself.

I had a currency note of INR1000, which i happily took to the wine shop where all the ordered liquor was available but there was a glitch at the time of payment. The note of INR1000 had its silver wire broken at places so they denied to accept it. I had to go back and fetch another note of INR1000 to make the payment.

Now liquor was there but the note with broken wire has become a concern. I don't have time to go to the bank and get it changed and none would except it in its present condition

Got to do something for sure.

Wrongful deed!

Arrested under the Indian Penal Code: section 505(2), 295A and section 66A of the Information Technology Act; these young girls have done nothing wrong.

The police needs legal advice before going after IT related offenses.

This whole episode is absurd and wrong. All the people involved in this episode must be punished.

Shaheen Dhada and Renu Srinivasan arrested in Mumbai

Shaheen Dhada and Renu Srinivasan are the two girls who have been arrested today early morning for questioning the Mumbai shut down over Saheb's funeral. The former made the comment and the latter was arrested to like the comment.

I don't understand what has gone wrong with our government, bureaucracy, press and police. It's a nation that gives you a right to free speech. These two girls were sent for a 14-day judicial custody by a court where the magistrate seems to be an illiterate man who "BOUGHT" his Law Degree from some fake university. No case can be made under
Section 505(2) (statements creating or promoting enmity, hatred or ill-will between classes) on Shaheen or her friend.

The best part, they both were granted bail on a personal bond of INR15,000 each.

This raises the question to my own blog post of yesterday where I called the Shiv Sainiks "Wolves." Why I am not arrested for that!?

Is freedom of expression is so threatening to these Shiv Sainiks or the government of Maharashtra or the police department of Mumbai that they had to arrest two young females for two lines, which one posted and another liked?

Intelligent morons, I say!

But this incident will bring wrath on many who are wrongfully involved in tormenting these two girls, especially the cops.

All Close: The Tiger is Dead and his Wolves are not!

Yesterday The Tiger died and today evening is his cremation.

The whole Mumbai has come to a halt not because the Mumbaikars respect him or loved him. It is the fear of his Shiv Sainiks who are more like wolves than cubs.

The marathi-manush will stay indoors for they appreciate him. The non-marathis will stay indoors for they fear the wrath of Shiv Sena.

Yes, many freedom fighters died, but none ever thought to pay homage to them every year. The martyrs of 26/11 are not paid back by respect while Kasab still enjoys the hospitality of our government.

The cricket players go home with the hero's welcome when they win a match. But the commandos who saved the day when the terrorists attacked were sent off in a BEST bus.

I pity myself, and everybody else for this lack of heart and courage to accept the truth.

RIP Bala Saheb Thackeray

The Tiger of Maharashtra Bala Saheb Thackeray died today at the age of 86.

Most of the non-marathis don't like him at all, nor many maharashtrians can pin point what he did in his life for 'Marathi-Manush' but I personally admire him.

This man born on 23 January, 1927; the very same day Subhash Chandra Bose was born spoke about the rights of his own men, the marathis. He has been very aggressive in his approach but that was necessary or else Maharashtra would have been similar to what Jharkhand is today.

Being a santhal I understand how is feels when someone else comes and takes over your land and rights. What Saheb did for four long decades was to terrorize these kind of intruders who brought atrocities along with them. He gave the marathis the courage to till and sow their own land without being bothered about their right being violated.

Saheb was always very particular about the roles and objectives of Shiv Sena

"The awareness Shiv Sena has created will never die. It will last for ever. The question is who will continue this and how transparently. The question will arise one day. Whoever will run Shiv Sena must have to take care that he does not convert it in Congress. Shiv Sena should remain as Shiv Sena only. No one can touch Shiv Sena till it remains as Shiv Sena. No matter whether I am there or not. But people themselves will not allow diluting the Sena."

Now my own state needs someone like Saheb to get the atrocities vanished and the rights restored.

May Saheb's soul rest in peace.

Drunkard in Neeta Volvo!!!

After a full day of running behind the things that made us happy, we packed and came to Dadar bus stand beneath the flyover.

It was 9:00pm and we immediately got the bus, a Neeta Volvo to Pune; 2 x 2.

The tickets costed us INR300 each, with seats in the middle of the bus it was comfortable and cosy.

The bus started bit late at 10:00pm and in the next stop after Chembur, a completely slushed up guy came and sat on the seat right in front of my friend and jacked his seat behind so much that it rested on her knees. She confronted him and he pulled the seat back up. After a while he again tilted it back and my friend made him get it back to a proper position for her.

I thought it was all over when the guy again tilted it all the way to her knees, and this snapped me. I confronted him nicely but he was being very irritating and unreasonable.

His logic was, "I have paid money for this seat so I will use it as I wish to."

My logic was, "We have paid for our seat too, so if you violet our limits I'll break your jaw."

The passengers beside us adviced us to change our seat and I told them upfront that we came first, we stay till the end of the journey where we sat. The drunkard came later and he can't dictate his terms on us.

We sat on our place comfortably and the drunkard moved a row ahead and passed out.

Moral of the story/incident:- If you speak firmly and politely, they will have to understand or just kick their @$$. Plain and simple!

Projects to be finished!

Plans for this month has to be in a proper alignment as I want to go traveling and partying without any hassle of work or other issues whatsoever.

Hence, I must finish this project as soon as possible before I take off for the Diwali vacations.

Though, my intuition says that in the next few weeks I am gonna see a lot of things that are going to be unexpected and unstoppable.
