RIP Bala Saheb Thackeray

The Tiger of Maharashtra Bala Saheb Thackeray died today at the age of 86.

Most of the non-marathis don't like him at all, nor many maharashtrians can pin point what he did in his life for 'Marathi-Manush' but I personally admire him.

This man born on 23 January, 1927; the very same day Subhash Chandra Bose was born spoke about the rights of his own men, the marathis. He has been very aggressive in his approach but that was necessary or else Maharashtra would have been similar to what Jharkhand is today.

Being a santhal I understand how is feels when someone else comes and takes over your land and rights. What Saheb did for four long decades was to terrorize these kind of intruders who brought atrocities along with them. He gave the marathis the courage to till and sow their own land without being bothered about their right being violated.

Saheb was always very particular about the roles and objectives of Shiv Sena

"The awareness Shiv Sena has created will never die. It will last for ever. The question is who will continue this and how transparently. The question will arise one day. Whoever will run Shiv Sena must have to take care that he does not convert it in Congress. Shiv Sena should remain as Shiv Sena only. No one can touch Shiv Sena till it remains as Shiv Sena. No matter whether I am there or not. But people themselves will not allow diluting the Sena."

Now my own state needs someone like Saheb to get the atrocities vanished and the rights restored.

May Saheb's soul rest in peace.
