Anurag Maloo-A True Teacher

Originally himself, not a carbon copy of someone else, this man is honest, dedicated, friendly, sober, teacher, brother and a definitely a person who is making a difference to the society by committing two years of his life to Teach for India Fellowship at a small low income under resourced Municipal Corporation school in Pune.

Teaching small kids is a difficult task and when one has to make the entire curriculum along with the daily schedule everyday, organising field trips to visit communities from where kids come, taking up school transformation projects to community initiatives to bring sustainable change for the coming years. Yes, it’s a job of mammoth proportion that helps shaping the foundation of the young children, he is imparting knowledge to.

Recently he has been to Pakistan for a Peace Congregation of Youth representing India with few other fellow Indians as an Indian Youth Delegate for South Asian Youth Conference on Peace, Education and Sustainable Development. That is a privilege only a few get, and I envy him for that as well as one more thing.

Sir Robert Swan’s 2041, this is an INSPIRE International Antarctica Expedition for which Anurag Maloo has been chosen. His participation to this particular exploration will equip him with the first hand experience and information about the adverse effect of the greed of human beings on the ice caps of Antarctica. It is important for him to attend it because he can share that experience with his pupils and someday these students will take a cue from him to make the world a better place.

The major purpose of the expedition is to inspire the next generation of leaders to take responsibility, be sustainable, and know that now is the time for action in policy development and sustainable business generation, through the promotion of recycling, renewable energy and sustainability.

Swan has dedicated his life to the preservation of Antarctica by the promotion of recycling, renewable energy and sustainability to combat the effects of climate change. In the year 2041 the Protocol on Environmental Protection to the Antarctic Treaty could potentially be modified or amended. Our aim is to work towards the continuing protection of the Antarctic Treaty so that the last great wilderness on earth is never exploited.  For more information  go to  http://2041.com/

Aim of IAE 2013 - is to create an international youth coalition of Antarctic defenders who will champion renewable energy as their path to saving the continent. They will do so by initiating change in their communities with a larger goal of spreading awareness about Antarctica at an international level. To inspire people to create extraordinary results to preserve our planet through sustainable leadership, team work and personal development.
